Find the rounded basket lamps a bit too organic? This square wood basket salt lamp answers that. The clean, geometric wooden box plays hard lines against the irregular salt rocks glowing inside, and that contrast is the entire point.

The pieces are loose pink Khewra halite raised in Punjab, Pakistan, set in a precisely hand-crafted square basket with tidy linear joinery. Because the box is built and the rocks picked by hand, the grain of the timber and the shapes of the pieces vary between lamps.

It suits contemporary living rooms and home offices where most salt lamps would look slightly out of place; the angular basket sits far more naturally beside modern furniture and clean lines. At that footprint it fits a desk, a floating shelf or a low unit in a room of roughly 8 to 12 square metres. A question that comes up is whether the square shape wobbles; it sits flat and stable on its base, so it stays put on a shelf edge.

Because the rocks sit loose, their open faces can pick up a little water in a humid room. That's just salt at work pulling damp inward, so run the lamp to clear it and give the timber a quick dry-cloth once-over as needed, keeping water off the untreated wood.

Returns

Every lamp is hand-carved from natural rock salt, so variation in colour, shape, weight and surface texture is normal and is not a fault.

Arrived damaged or incorrect? Email us within 48 hours with your order number and a photo. We will replace it or refund you in full, and you will not pay return postage.

Changed your mind? You are welcome to unpack it and check it works first. You then have 30 days from delivery to tell us, and 14 days after that to post it back. Refunds go to your original payment method and usually appear within 5 to 10 business days.
