The trick with a salt ball lamp is the geometry: a true 360 degree sphere throws light evenly in every direction, so this 4 kg piece feels different from a flat-backed natural lamp the second you switch it on. Turning a chunk of rock salt into a clean sphere takes far more carving than any other shape in the range.

• Pink halite raised at the Khewra mine in Punjab and worked by hand into a smooth 360 degree ball
• An E14 15W bulb spreads a warm amber light, roughly 1800 to 2200 K, out from every angle at once
• Poised on a rounded timber foot, its plaited cord ending in a UK three-pin plug
• Weighs 4 kg with a diameter of about 18 to 22 cm, suited to rooms up to around 15 square metres
• Iron oxide within the crystal sets the colour, so tone and internal veining vary from one ball to the next

Set it in the middle of a coffee table or dining table where the light can radiate outward, and it holds the eye the way a wall-hugging lamp never quite manages. A question sphere buyers often raise is whether it rolls: the base is cupped to cradle the ball, so it sits put once placed. Salt naturally lifts moisture from the surrounding air, so an occasional damp patch is normal and a clear sign the halite is genuine rather than resin. Returns Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.

We can ship to virtually any address in the UK. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.
